Valero Texas Open Top 10 Player Power Rankings
By Sam Belden
Jimmy Walker notched a decisive victory at last year’s Valero Texas Open. Who’s on the shortlist to pull it off this year?
The Valero Texas Open takes the PGA Tour back to the Lone Star State this week. For the first time in a couple of weeks, the field has been selected using the normal priority ranking. The Masters is famously exclusive and the RBC Heritage is an invitational. This week’s event, held at TPC San Antonio, will feature a full slate of card holders.
Last year, Jimmy Walker enjoyed a dominant week at the Valero, winning by four strokes over Jordan Spieth in second place and seven over Billy Horschel in third. While he made it to 11-under, the course played tough; just ten players ended up under par for the week.
Who will follow in Walker’s footsteps and tame the treacherous TPC San Antonio? Without further ado, let’s get to it. Here are this week’s best bets for success for the Valero Texas Open.
