If she can stay out of trouble Charley Hull could dominate this week.

I’m not looking for 25th ranked Jessica Korda to be playing at the top of the leaderboard come Sunday but I wouldn’t be at all surprised to see both Charley Hull and So Yeon Ryu in contention going into the final round at the Yokohama Tire LPGA Classic.

I see 26th ranked Charley Hull becoming more settled and focused in competition this year. Her runner-up finish at the ANA Inspiration didn’t surprise me – she has the game in her bag to win a major. The barrier has been the little girl in Charley who just loves playing golf. She’s starting to get serious about the competitive process.

10th ranked So Yeon Ryu has been overshadowed this year by several younger Korean players – Sei Young Kim, Hyo Joo Kim, and In Gee Chun – but Ryu has the kind of game that will carry her through 72 holes without many errors and leave her looking at the top of the board coming down the back nine on Sunday.

Jessica Korda has a better game than she’s been showing this year. I’m hoping that being paired with Hull and Ryu for the first two rounds will help her get focused. I’d like to see Korda back in contention. Maybe these playing partners will be a good influence on her.
