Waters run still and deep, Spanish moss dangles, and humidity runs higher than daytime summer temperatures in this part of Alabama, but spring, winter and summer you’ll get golf at its finest at Highland Oaks.

The Highlands course is the core nine at Highland Oaks and is relatively open with several lakes in play on four of the nine holes, including a peninsula green.  The Magnolia nine is well-named: specimen magnolia trees dot the higher ground, which is reached via a 1,000 foot long wooden bridge spanning a marsh. The flavor here is distinctly and decidedly Southern. Marshwood has been made famous (or infamous) by its behemoth par-5 sixth, which stretches to 701 yards from the tips. Take a rest with the Short Course, a nine-hole par 3 with three water holes and possibly the best putting greens in the South.
