Robert Karlsson

‘The Scientist’ is a real European Tour stalwart. It took Karlsson until the age of 37 to finally qualify for a Ryder Cup team and so he thoroughly enjoyed the celebrations after the 2006 victory. The Swede had some tough matches and could only manage two draws from his three matches but he learnt a great deal from the experience.

Arguably, Karlsson played his best golf after featuring at the K Club. He went on to top the European Order of Merit in 2008 and won a further four events.

The wins have dried up though for the 47-year-old in recent years. He’s still battling away but going into the Irish Open he has missed his last four cuts so it is all about the trip down memory lane for the popular Swede.
