The United States team should be a powerhouse at the 2016 International Crown.

With Lexi Thompson, Stacy Lewis, Cristie Kerr, and Gerina Piller lined up and Brittany Lincicome and Jessica Korda the next in line, the United States International Crown team should be a power house. Just about any combination of these six top-ranked Americans would bring previous Solheim Cup and International Crown experience to this year’s event.

The American team will bring two advantages to International Crown competition that the Korean team lacks. First, while any of these players could probably assume a leadership position, Cristie Kerr brings an incredible depth of experience to the Crown. She’s played for the United States on 7 Solheim Cup teams and has twice played on Lexus Cup teams. Kerr knows how match play works and she knows what goes into putting together a cohesive team. With 18 career wins on the Tour, two of them majors, Cristie Kerr is a tested and proven competitor.

Second, all six Americans have played together as a team in either the Solheim Cup or the International Crown, or both. They’re bringing that history to this year’s Crown, and they’d all like to avenge their 2014 loss.
