Can Ireland’s Shane Lowry go back-to-back at the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational?

The WGC-Bridgestone Invitational is the fourth and final World Golf Championship event on the 2015-16 PGA Tour schedule. Held annually at Firestone Country Club, the tournament always provides a great stage for the world’s foremost golfers to showcase their skills, but not all of them will be in attendance this year.

Four Europeans ranked inside the top 20 of the world ranking — Rory McIlroy, Henrik Stenson, Danny Willett and Sergio Garcia — will be taking the week off, putting a definite damper on the week’s festivities. Clearly, they want to get their rest in advance of the upcoming Open Championship. That’s understandable, but it’s not as much of a “World” Golf Championship if four of the biggest international stars in the game have decided they have better things to do.

Even so, the field is stacked with quality players. Jason Day and Jordan Spieth, two-thirds of the new Big Three, will be in attendance, as will newly minted U.S. Open champion Dustin Johnson. This will be the last time we see many big names like these ones in action before the third major of the year, so watch them closely.

Without further ado, let’s go ten deep. Here are the best bets for success at Firestone Country Club.
