Since the event switched to modified stableford in 2012, Brendan Steele has three top-10 finishes at Montreux.

At 50th in the FedEx Cup, Steele has just four missed cuts to his name in a season highlighted by a tie for third at the CIMB Classic. The slender Steele is 12th on Tour in total driving and No. 47 in total birdies.

If Steele catches fire with his putter, he could be due for a win at an event that’s been kind to his checkbook in the past.

No. 77, Four top 20s in last six starts

At No. 75 in the world, Steele gets some bonus points as one of the rare competitors from the top 100. When you sweeten the pot by mentioning his T7 finish in 2015, Steele is definitely a name to keep in mind this week.

Steele has been a mainstay in Reno in recent past, making the cut in all four years of the modified stableford format. Three of his four starts have resulted in top 10s and his play thus far this year is respectable.
