8. Nick Price

Time at the top: 44 weeks

Known as one of the nicer guys on the PGA Tour, Nick Price spent 44 weeks on top of the OWGR between 1994 and 1995. He rose to the spot after winning the 1994 PGA Championship at Southern Hills, his second consecutive and third career major.

Throughout his two-plus decades on the PGA Tour, Price was renowned for his ball striking, which he parlayed into 18 wins spanning from 1983 to 2002. He picked up 21 career top 10s at the majors and topped the money list on two occasions, cementing his status as one of the dominant players of his era. He was inducted to the World Golf Hall of Fame in 2003.

While he seems to have been somewhat forgotten in recent years, Price can’t be deprived of a good ranking on this list. His three career majors are simply too impressive.
