Great Britain: Justin Rose, Danny Willett

As golf recognizes the four individual countries within the United Kingdom, it’s not every day that we see players representing this flag. Although Justin Rose and Danny Willett form an all-English team, they will try to bring home the gold for Scotland and Wales as well as their homeland.

He’s not ranked quite as highly as Willett, but Rose actually has a much better chance of medaling. He’s racked up nine top 25s in just 14 starts this year, posting solid results at both The Open Championship and the PGA Championship. He shouldn’t have any trouble carrying that form over to the Olympics.

At No. 9 in the world, Willett is certainly one of the most accomplished players in the field, but don’t expect him to medal. The 28-year-old hasn’t notched a top 50 finish since the U.S. Open, appearing overmatched in a few of this summer’s top events. Qualifying for the Olympics was a nice perk to go along with his Masters win in April, but he probably won’t return home with any hardware.
