As we approach the business end of the first Olympic golf tournament in 112 years, there are a number of key questions set to be answered in Rio.

Through the first two days, the Olympic golf tournament has been a big success.

Sizeable crowds have visited the purpose built course in Reserva de Marapendi to take in the action, players have described the Olympic Golf Course as “the best conditioned course” they’ve played all year and the leaderboard is set up for a competitive final two days of action.

For any of the skeptics, or the “sheep” who decided to stay at home, all indications from Brazil have suggested that they’re missing out on something special.

One thing’s for sure, the return of Olympic golf can’t be accused of not delivering fascinating storylines.

With only two days of play now remaining for the men, there are a whole host of questions that remain without answers.

Will the Olympic golf champion be a star name who has already cemented their place at the top of the sport or a relative unknown set to be catapulted into the limelight? Both options are still in play.

Will the players approach the weekend differently with multiple medals on offer? Could we see multiple playoffs on Sunday?

Let’s take a closer look at six of the key questions heading into the final two rounds at the men’s Olympic golf tournament.
