Olympic Golf: Six Key Questions For The Weekend
By Adam McGee
Could We Be Set For Playoff Drama?
Even if when the final shot of regulation play is hit on Sunday we have a clear winner of the first Olympic golf event in 112 years, that doesn’t mean that we won’t have the extra dose of excitement that comes with extra holes.
There are only three medals up for grabs this week in Rio, and as a result, ties for any of the top three places won’t be enough to get it done.
A three-way tie or more for first would lead to a playoff that wouldn’t just decide a winner, but could continue running to establish a clear silver and bronze medalist if needed.
Even more unique, there’s a possibility that we could see two playoffs on Sunday. A two-way tie at the top and a tie of any number in third behind it would lead to sudden death playoffs for both the gold and bronze medals.

Playoffs are great fun and drama for the spectators, and the Olympic tournament certainly has the potential to deliver more than its fair share of fun in that regard on Sunday.
