Olin Browne

The winner of the US Senior Open the last time it was in the state of Ohio in 2011, 57-year-old Olin Browne hovers around the lead this week safe in the knowledge that he knows he has what it takes to get over the line.

Ranked 16th in the Schwab Cup money list, Browne is having a solid season on the Champions Tour, even if he has yet to register what would be his third win as a Senior.

Browne has played well in the first two days without necessarily getting the most out of his score, matching Colin Montgomerie’s totals for the first two days with rounds of 71 and 70.

On the par 70 circuit at Scioto, low scores aren’t easy to come by, but the Washington D.C. native has just the kind of grit, determination and consistency needed to ensure that he at least stays within range.
