Si Woo Kim closed out victory in style at the Wyndham Championship, picking up his first PGA Tour win by five shots.

If there were any questions over Si Woo Kim’s nerve, the 21-year-old answered them in emphatic fashion in wrapping up the Wyndham Championship on Sunday.

After turning on to the back nine after only 31 strokes, Kim tapped in his bogey putt on the 10th hole during a momentary downpour, and watched his lead drop down to five strokes. If there was any doubt in his mind, this is where the potential for a poor finish could have crept in.

Still holding a comfortable lead, Kim retained his composure as he dropped in his par putts on the 11th and 12th hole. From there his lead began to dwindle down a bit though.

On the 13th hole, Kim received a bad break when his ball landed in a divot hole on the fairway. That would cause an errant shot and would eventually lead to a bogey. On the next hole, the pressure seemed as if it was starting to get to Kim as he dropped yet another shot to bring him to 19-under for the tournament.

The Korean though showed impressive steel to regain composure on his next two holes by making a birdie on the 15th and a par on the 16th before play was suspended because of rain.

When play resumed after a delay of approximately an hour, Kim remained steady with a par on the 17th hole and a birdie on the 18th to win the Wyndham Championship.

The runner up, Luke Donald, seemed to be the only one that could catch Kim as the tournament wound down. Sitting in the pairing behind Kim, Donald birdied the 15th hole to put a bit of pressure on the young leader. However, after a missed birdie opportunity on 16, it looked as though it was too late for him. Unfortunately for Donald it really was too late, and he would finish as the runner up at 16-under.

Other notables Brandt Snedeker and Hideki Matsuyama finished in a tie for third at 15-under.

Coming off of a disappointing Olympic golf tournament appearance without a medal, Americans Rickie Fowler and Patrick Reed, as well as Spaniard Rafa Cabrera Bello looked to bounce back at the Wyndham Championship.

Rickie Fowler and Patrick Reed played relatively well this week with their 10-under tournament score but they were still well off the leading pace. They’ll look to rebound after a slightly underwhelming season thus far when the FedEx Cup playoffs begin next week at The Barclays.

Rafa Cabrera Bello looked very good in the first round after he opened with a seven-under 63 to bring him into a tie for the lead. He remained near the top of the leader board for the next two days resulting in a spot in the final pairing with Si Woo Kim on Sunday. However, with some work to do to cut into the four shot lead Kim was holding, in the end, it just proved too much for him to overcome and the Spaniard finished in a tie for fifth at 15-under.
