2. The Masters (Danny Williett)

What a difference a hole can make. Amateur golfers know this to be true, but it is rare when such a collapse occurs to one of the biggest players on golf’s brightest stage.

Jordan Spieth was playing brilliantly. He had a five stroke lead entering the back nine to win back-to-back Green Jackets. Then, everything came crashing down.

After bogeying the 10th and 11th holes, Jordan lined up a shot on the short par-three 12th. His tee shot splashed into the water, forcing a re-hit, which then was put into the water again.

Danny Willett, who had played solidly himself, was the beneficiary of Spieth’s demise and won his first major championship.
