1. The Open Championship (Henrik Stenson)

This was one for the record books. Stenson and Mickelson duked it out for a major championship in the most enticing of ways.

From the first shot on Thursday, both knew it would be a historic ride. The two stars were at the top of their game, the course provided some nasty weather and the final scores of 20 and 17-under par for the tournament were from outer space.

Only this titanic battle could top out list as the best tournament of the 2015-2016 PGA Tour season, as if we’re being honest, it’s probably one of the best of all-time.
