8. Waste Management Pheonix Open (Hideki Matsuyama)

The crowd of 63,000 on Sunday was given a treat when Hideki Matsuyama and Rickie Fowler battled it out in a playoff on Super Bowl Weekend.

Fowler had a two shot lead entering the reachable par-four 17th in regulation. but it quickly vanished after his drive went over the green and into the water. Matsuyama would birdie the hole, before making birdie on the 18th, alongside Fowler, to force a playoff.

In the playoff, Fowler would hit the water again on 17, giving Matsuyama an easy par opportunity and the Waste Management title.

It was a scrappy win for Matsuyama, but even more memorable was Fowler’s post tournament presser, where he was visibly upset and proceeded to shed a few tears. “I feel like I had it,” he said.
