6. TOUR Championship (Rory McIlroy)

Yes, it is tough to include the most recent tournament into a list of events that span the past year, but if we are being honest, the TOUR Championship was thrilling for only having thirty competitors.

Jason Day, Jordan Spieth, Dustin Johnson and Rory McIlroy all had a shot at winning the tournament and the FedEx Cup coming into the event. Johnson looked strongest of the four, placing himself in the lead heading into Sunday. McIlroy saved his best for last though.

After striking a six-under-par on moving day, McIlroy shot six-under once more on Sunday, forcing a playoff with Ryan Moore and Kevin Chappell. The stakes were high. McIlroy had to win the Championship to receive enough points to win the Cup.

After four playoff holes, McIlroy served up a birdie and some fist-pumps to clinch both titles while making a strong statement heading into the Ryder Cup.
