4. Olympics (Justin Rose)

It had been 112 years since golf made an appearance at the Olympics. The International Olympic Committee decided to break that trend in Rio 2016.

In the weeks leading up to the tournament, big name players were opting out of participating in the landmark event, citing concerns of traveling fatigue and Zika virus.

Despite the bad press, the Olympics delivered on tournament weekend. Great Britain’s Justin Rose squeaked out a victory ahead of Sweden’s Henrik Stenson to bring home the gold medal. Had the Olympic tournament possessed more higher ranked players in the field, this tournament could have been even closer to the top.
