Jordan Spieth and Patrick Reed

It’s rare to find a perfect mix of personalities and playing styles when trying to put pairings together for an event as high profile as this, but that seems to be exactly what Jordan Spieth and Patrick Reed give Davis Love.

The duo are good friends off the course, but even more importantly, they’ve already got a proven record together in team formats. Grouped together on three occasions as rookies in Gleneagles in 2014, Spieth and Reed picked up two-and-a-half points for their team. At last year’s President’s Cup the duo teamed up again for the final Fourballs session and pulled off a dominant win over Jason Day and Charl Schwartzel.

It’s well-publicized that Patrick Reed wears his emotions on his sleeve, and with Jordan Spieth no stranger to emotion either, if this group can continue their good play together, they’ll fire up every spectator on the course and provide a real home field advantage.
