Phil Mickelson and Zach Johnson

Two of the most experienced and most decorated players on Davis Love’s team, the pairing of these two former Masters champions has brought the US success before, and there’s no reason to suggest why that wouldn’t happen again.

As has been made very clear by his comments in the media in recent days, Mickelson values having a comfort level with his playing partner. Without Keegan Bradley, who he has formed a successful pairing with in recent matches, Johnson would seem like the obvious choice.

These two paired up at last year’s Presidents Cup to win two-and-a-half points out of a possible three. With Phil’s capability of being very erratic at times, a steady ball striker and clutch putter like Johnson would seem like a great complementary fit.
