Ryder Cup: 5 Most Intriguing US Pairings
By Adam McGee
Dustin Johnson and Brooks Koepka
Johnson is undoubtedly the best player on this US team in terms of recent form, and as such, there’s an array of options for who Davis Love could choose to pair alongside the laid-back Texan. With the experience of two Ryder Cups already under his belt, Johnson’s low-key demeanor could make him the perfect player to mentor one of the American side’s few young rookies.
In that regard, Koepka would seem like an excellent choice. Although a case could be made for steadier partners who offer something a little bit different to DJ, this duo would be a lot of fun to watch as they hit the ball about as far as anyone in the game.
When asked about what makes a good Foursomes pairing, in particular, you often hear players talk about standing over a shot that feels natural to them. With Johnson and Koepka’s similar length, there’d be little reason for either to feel like they weren’t hitting all of their own shots.
