Jimmy Walker and Matt Kuchar

As two of the slightly more experienced members of the American team, Jimmy Walker and Matt Kuchar would seem like a natural fit to play alongside each other, both in terms of temperament and their style of play.

Kuchar played well alongside Dustin Johnson in 2012, meaning that’s a pairing that could very much be in play, but struggled to find a fit in 2014. For Walker, although he lost only once as a debutant at Gleneagles, his partnership with Rickie Fowler only managed to lead them to three halves and a loss overall.

Considering both of these men have had memorable summers, with Kuchar claiming a bronze medal at the Olympics and Walker winning the PGA Championship, they could carry a feel-good factor into the Ryder Cup too.
