Rickie Fowler and Brandt Snedeker

It’s crystal clear just how much Rickie Fowler cares about the Ryder Cup, but to date that hasn’t really done anything to help his pretty abysmal record in the event. Coming into this year’s staging with poor form, it’s even more important than ever that he finds the right partner.

That man could well be Brandt Snedeker. Coming off of another good, steady year on the PGA Tour, Snedeker’s game feels somewhat tailor-made for matchplay. The 35-year-old hits the ball relatively far, is a good ball-striker and most importantly of all, he’s one of the best putters in the world.

That could prove to be particularly important if these two were to be grouped together, as with Snedeker, even if Fowler struggled early on, he may well have a teammate capable of rallying to allow them to hang on and build confidence as the round goes on.
