More than an eighth of the 2016-17 PGA Tour season has already been completed, but it’s not your fault if you didn’t realize. The relatively new wraparound schedule format, combined with the lack of a substantial break between the previous season’s Tour Championship and the new season’s opening event, can make it difficult to stay on top of things.

However, there is a kind of offseason close on the horizon, as the tour will take six weeks off following this week’s RSM Classic at Sea Island Golf Club.

As we’ve moved deeper into the fall, the fields have begun to dwindle — many European stars are preoccupied with the Race to Dubai Final Series, while their American counterparts are more likely to opt for quality time with family than a low-wattage event. Still, there will be some fun fan draws at this week’s event, starting with the famous Sea Island Mafia.

A sizable contingent of PGA Tour members who make their homes or do their training on Sea Island, the Mafia includes a number of notable players. Davis Love III, Matt Kuchar, Zach Johnson, Harris English and others live nearby, while Charles Howell III, Brian Harman and Chris Kirk are among those who train at the Sea Island Performance Center.

With these and a number of other notable names in the field, this week’s RSM Classic is shaping up to be an entertaining event. Without further ado, let’s dive in and take a look at the ten best bets for success.
