European Tour Power Rankings: ISPS Handa World Super 6 Perth
Jason Scrivener
This week is a virtual home game for the 27-year-old Aussie from Mandurrah, about an hour drive from Lake Karrinyup. His past performances in Perth reflect a level of comfortability. The current world No. 237 placed third in 2016 with four straight rounds in the 60s to finish two strokes off the pace.
Scrivener wasn’t in the field in 2015, but placed T15 in 2014. He was derailed from contending by a second-round 74, his only score over 70 in eight rounds on site. Scrivener hasn’t become a household name due to his struggles in the more prestigious mainland Europe events — he missed the cut or withdrew in eight of nine tournaments from May to September — but he’s made the weekend in five of his last six starts going back to November, including a T4 at the Emirates Australian Open.
The former top-30 world amateur lacks much of a match play history on the big stage. So do most in the World Super 6 Perth field outside of the marquee names, by the same token. It seems like a decent bet to see Scrivener in the final 24. From there, it’s anyone’s guess who will emerge from the knockout madness.
