The Joburg Open is bogged down by inclement weather. Englishman Paul Waring still has six holes to complete in his second round, but he’s done well to this point, setting the European Tour’s Joburg Open pace by one after day two.

The 32-year-old made just six Official World Golf Ranking-qualifying starts in 2016. He entered the week riding three straight cuts and is ranked No. 739.

Golf’s a fascinating game, isn’t it?

Waring looked like a new player at Royal Johannesburg & Kensington GC, where he made birdies at almost a 50 percent clip (14/30).

He’ll have to keep up the pace to fend off several within close range, including the defending champ, Haydn Porteous who’s pictured above.
