Fantasy golf tips for this week’s LPGA event, the HSBC Women’s Champions

HSBC Women’s Champions, the last stop on the LPGA’s fall Asia Swing, seems to deliver at least one breathtaking golf shot every year. I always look forward to this event because I know I’m going to get something special.

I’ll be thinking about those shots as I pick my fantasy team for this week’s event. My picks are based on the Ladies Dream Golf Pick-4 contest, but will work for other fantasy golf games as well.

Who will match Paula Creamer’s winning putt on the 72nd hole in 2014?

Or Ha Na Jang’s winning eagle last year, which she followed with that little Beyonce-inspired dance?

Perhaps it’s knowing that they’re wrapping things up and heading back to North America and the Founders Cup that drives up the field’s energy. Or perhaps it’s just the ambience at Sentosa Golf Club. The new Tanjong track, which will play 6683 yards this week, offers wide open fairways, lots of sand, and some strategically placed water challenges. It’s a layout that could easily inspire more than one amazing shot from a talented field of players.

Singapore weather will be more of the same – warm and humid with a mild wind and daily showers – so I’m looking for players who can best manage these conditions.
