Jimmy Walker — $7,000

The past year has been a strange one for this Texan. While he enjoyed a career highlight by winning the PGA Championship at Baltusrol last July, he’s been more inconsistent over the past 12 months than at any other time since his first PGA Tour victory in 2013. He definitely carries some fantasy risk this week, but he also has all the makings of an excellent, cost-effective play.

With a pair of top 25 finishes in his last two starts, Walker’s form is trending in the right direction as the PGA Tour heads down to Mexico. He had his terrific short game on full display over that stretch, ranking second in the field in strokes gained: around-the-green at last week’s Honda Classic. Additionally, while he’s only just started to perform in the 2017 season, his ball striking has held up throughout the campaign, making him one of the PGA Tour’s top 35 players in strokes gained: approach-the-green.

It would be nice to have a bit more clarity on Walker’s form, but the silver lining is his DraftKings salary: just $7,000 for this week. That’s a pretty good bargain for a player with his experience, so don’t be afraid to plug him in.
