Bill Haas — $7,000

It’s been more than two years since this Wake Forest product last hoisted a trophy, so we probably shouldn’t expect him to win going up against this week’s stacked field. That said, Haas is available at a great DraftKings salary for how consistent he is, making him a solid option for thrifty fantasy managers.

You might not have noticed it, but Haas has finished in the top 20 in each of his last six PGA Tour starts, a stretch that dates back to the season-opening Safeway Open in early October. Most recently, he tied for 11th against a tough field at the Genesis Open, where he ranked fourth on the week in strokes gained: around-the-green. For the season, he ranks eighth in total strokes gained and fourth in scoring average, so he should have plenty of opportunities to make birdie at Chapultepec this week. While the host course has changed, it’s worth noting that he’s notched three career top 10 finishes at this WGC.

Although he’s yet to find success at the majors, Haas has nevertheless proven his ability to contend against tough fields. At just $7,000 in DraftKings, he’s a sensible option for the bottom of your lineup, so invest away.
