Who’s most likely to experience success this week at the Hero Indian Open? These are my top picks.

There’s an exciting field teeing it up at the European Tour’s Hero Indian Open. the event is co-sanctioned by the European Tour and the Asian Tour.

The Open will be contended at the DLF Golf and Country Club Gary Player Course in Gurgoan, India, March 9-12. Golf Channel will provide daily coverage.

Rated the top golf course in India, the parkland style track has hosted the Asian Tour’s Johnnie Walker Classic and the Women’s Indian Open as well as the Avantha Masters. It’s a visual delight as well as a technical challenge shaped by Arnold Palmer and then Gary Player.

Defending champion S.S.P. Chawrasia will face off against a field that includes five past winners of the Hero Indian Open and a dozen past champions of European Tour and Asian Tour events. But his most immediate challenger this week is likely to be Anirban Lahiri, 2015 winner of the Hero Indian Open.

Although I haven’t ranked S.S.P Chawrasia among the top-10 in this week’s field, the rivalry between Chawrasia and Lahiri could easily develop into the tournament within the tournament this week. The pair have a history. They’ve both finished in the top two in their last three Hero Indian Open starts.

Let’s have a look at how I’m ranking the field, working our way from 10th to 1st.
