Gary Woodland — 8th

With five top 20s in his last seven starts, Woodland has demonstrated remarkable consistency since the calendar turned to 2017, ranking among the game’s top 15 players in Official World Golf Ranking points since then. That run includes a pair of recent high finishes — a tie for second at the Honda Classic and a tie for fifth at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am — so he looks ready for a win right now. He’s also a former winner at Innisbrook, shooting four rounds in the 60s to win this event as a PGA Tour rookie in 2011. While his record since then hasn’t been so strong, positive vibes and happy memories should do a lot for him this week.

Woodland may have failed to contend at the recent WGC, but he looks more than capable of making a charge against weaker competition. The bet here is that he’ll have his chance to shine at the Valspar Championship.
