Charles Howell III — 11th

Before running into trouble at the Honda, Howell had notched seven straight top 15 finishes, making him one of the best fantasy values on the PGA Tour. He probably lost a bit of momentum with his last start, but his track record at the Valspar Championship — nine-for-11 with seven top 25s, including a tie for second in 2009 — means that he’ll have a good opportunity to get it back this week. What’s more, Howell is currently enjoying one of his best statistical seasons in a while, ranking 36th on the PGA Tour in strokes gained: tee-to-green and 11th in scoring average.

Howell may never again approach the elite ranks of the game, but he’s nevertheless established himself as a consistent competitor who can hang with the big dogs on his favorite courses. If all goes well this week, he could finally bring an end to his decade-long win drought.
