PGA Tour Featured Fantasy Picks: Valspar Championship

As every former No. 1 player knows, it’s a long way down from the top, but it seems that Donald isn’t yet finished with being a fantasy force on the PGA Tour. The Englishman has maintained consistent form over the past few weeks, so he belongs on our radar as the circuit heads to a course where he’s seen some past success.

While he hasn’t quite been playing like his old self, Donald is on a run of three consecutive top 30 finishes, so fantasy managers should expect to get four solid rounds out of him this week. His short game has been terrific over that stretch — on the 2017 season, he ranks 24th in strokes gained: around-the-green and 12th in strokes gained: putting. We’ve seen past editions of the Valspar Championship transform into putting contests, so Donald looks poised to continue his strong play. He’s also a former winner at Innisbrook, hoisting the trophy in 2012 and posting a pair of top five finishes since then.

With a strong track record at the Copperhead Course, Donald has the potential to be a great value play in DFS this week. Let’s see if his experience can finally propel him to his first top 10 of the new season.
