J.J. Spaun — $7,200

This California native has methodically worked his way up through the professional ranks, playing on the Mackenzie Tour in 2015 and the Web.com Tour in 2016 before finally earning his PGA Tour card for this year. The next step is to become a PGA Tour winner, and with a bit of luck, Spaun looks like he could pull it off as soon as this week.

Spaun is near the top of this year’s rookie class, ranking fifth among that group in FedEx Cup points thanks to three top 25 finishes in his last four starts. That stretch includes a tie for fourth at the Waste Management Phoenix Open, where he closed with three consecutive rounds in the mid-60s to finish two strokes out of a playoff. His flatstick has been the real key to his success — he led the field in strokes gained: putting at the Farmers Insurance Open, and despite some early-season hiccups, he ranks 36th on the PGA Tour in putting from inside 10 feet. That’s the kind of profile that could hint at success at a track like Innisbrook.

Available at just $7,200 in DraftKings, it won’t cost you much to take a chance on Spaun this week. His short game is the real deal.
