This Aussie looks ready to set the golf world on fire!

We’re likely to see a great deal of Curtis Luck in the coming months. He’s a dual champion and he’s an extraordinarily hot young Australian golfer who’s earned spots at the Masters, the US Open, and the Open Championship.

Luck is currently ranked 2nd in the world amateur rankings and at no. 440 in the OWGR, he outranks Tiger Woods.

Luck has been warming up for his Augusta National debut by playing European Tour events, four since January 2017. And he played the weekend at three of them: Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship, Omega Dubai Desert Classic, and ISPS Handa World Super 6 Perth.

The Aussie teenager is practically bursting with self confidence. He told Golfweek’s Alistair Tait that while it was “pretty cool” to be rubbing shoulders with the big names, it really isn’t intimidating:

". . . ultimately we’ve earned our spot in the field, so there’s no reason why we should be intimidated."

Luck knows he ultimately wants to be playing golf on the PGA Tour. Whether or not he’ll play some collegiate golf first is still a question mark. I’m betting that the decision will probably come down to Stanford vs Arizona State vs an immediate pro career, and we won’t know the answer until after he plays Royal Birkdale in July.

More immediately, Luck will be playing with Willett on Thursday and Friday at Augusta National so he’ll be easy to follow.
