Henrik Stenson — $11,500

As is the case with most elite players, this Swede will cost you a pretty penny in DFS, but this is as good a week as any to build a team around Stenson. The 40-year-old presents us with a major case of converging trends, making him a great bet to pack a major fantasy punch, even with his premium salary.

Stenson has become a consistent contender at the Arnold Palmer Invitational, finishing inside the top 15 in each of the last five years. With a pair of podium finishes over the past two seasons, it seems like it’s only a matter of time before he finally hoists a trophy at Bay Hill. What’s more, the five-time PGA Tour winner has been exhibiting some impressive form in recent weeks — discounting his withdrawal from the WGC-Mexico Championship, he’s riding a wave of seven consecutive worldwide top 10s. While he’s yet to play enough stateside rounds to qualify for the statistical rankings, his strokes gained: putting mark is the best on the PGA Tour.

In sum, there’s no shortage of reasons to invest in Stenson this week — the only knock against him is that he’ll likely be an absurdly popular pick among your opponents. It’s almost enough to make you wonder why Rory McIlroy is commanding a bigger salary in DraftKings.
