Chris Kirk — $6,800

This Georgia product’s game has fallen off significantly since his last PGA Tour win in 2015, but that doesn’t mean he can’t be of utility to fantasy managers from time to time. Kirk is one of the more experienced players in the field this week, making him a viable option as a DFS flier.

Kirk may have missed the cut at last week’s Valspar Championship, but he was on a streak of three consecutive weekends before that, notching a tie for 21st at the CareerBuilder Challenge along with two other top 40s. He’s yet to contend for a trophy in the new year, but at least he’s been statistically strong, ranking 20th on the PGA Tour in strokes gained: putting and 11th in greens in regulation. His track record at the Arnold Palmer Invitational is an uneven one, but with a tie for 16th in 2013 and a tie for 12th last year, he knows what he needs to do to shoot low scores.

With a couple of essential skills and some nice course history in tow, Kirk has a real chance to provide fantasy value this week. Who knows — his return to the winner’s circle may be coming sooner than we think.
