It’s a week of memories and nostalgia at the 2017 Arnold Palmer Invitational, the first year or Arnie’s event without him.

I wondered when PGA Tour pros, and those involved in this year’s tournament, LPGA legend Annika Sorenstam and even his agent, Alastair Johnston, CEO of Arnold Palmer Enterprises recalled about their first encounters.

Some of them answered this week on site at the Arnold Palmer Invitational and some answers were culled from interview archives.

Each one is slightly different. Taken together they trace the variety of ways Palmer met thousands of golf professionals and the impact of those first encounters on careers and lives. In much the same way, The King also met and impacted millions of fans over the years.
