Soren Kjeldsen

OWGR: 64th

Odds: 300/1

Kjeldsen has officially passed Thomas Bjorn as the top Dane in the men’s game, and while he’s still a relative newcomer to the PGA Tour, serious fans should have no doubt that he has what it takes to contend at the Masters. So far, he hasn’t had a great year, but he seems to have turned a corner as of late, making him an intriguing dark horse for Augusta.

You might not have noticed it, but Kjeldsen actually finished in the top 10 at two majors last year, including the Masters. Making his first appearance at Augusta in six years, he opened with a 69 and stayed relatively steady for the rest of the week, ending up in a tie for seventh. While he opened 2017 with four missed cuts in a row, he’s finished no lower than 37th place in three starts since then, and you have to keep in mind that he’s seeing many of these courses for the first time in his career. He’s far more experienced at Augusta, which bodes well for his chances.

At 41, Kjeldsen would be old for a first-time major winner, but stranger things have happened. Keep an eye on this great Dane as the Masters approaches — he could surprise.
