Sergio Garcia — 70th

While Garcia failed to advance out of the group stage at last year’s WGC-Match Play, he still turned in a good performance, winning matches over Lee Westwood and Marc Leishman. He wound up tying for 18th on the week, but he would have done much better if not for a 1-down loss to Ryan Moore on Thursday. This year, he’s been as consistent as ever, picking up four top 15 finishes, including a win at the Dubai Desert Classic, in just five worldwide starts. He also leads the PGA Tour in strokes gained: off-the-tee and ranks ninth in scoring average.

In sum, Garcia may not have set the world on fire at last year’s WGC-Match Play, but with three rounds at Austin Country Club now under his belt, he should be ready to improve on that result this time around. At his best, he can still beat anyone on the PGA Tour in this format.
