Jordan Spieth — 5th

A year ago, Spieth had a very solid week at Austin Country Club, going undefeated in group play before running into the Oosthuizen buzzsaw in the round of 16. While he won’t be the top seed this year, last season’s experience should serve him well. In terms of form, Spieth has continued to be one of the steadiest players in the world — he hasn’t missed out on the top 25 anywhere since last summer’s Open Championship, and with three top 10s on the new year, along with a tie for 12th in his most recent start at the WGC-Mexico Championship, we don’t have any reason to start doubting him now.

While Spieth has missed out on the top 10 in his last two starts, he should be rested and ready to bounce back. He loves playing in front of his most rabid fans, so expect him to be buoyed by the support this week.
