Group 10: Tyrrell Hatton, Rafa Cabrera-Bello, Jeunghun Wang, Charles Howell III

Sam’s Pick: Hatton — Despite a relative lack of collective name recognition, this group could be one of the toughest in the entire field. With a pair of European stalwarts, as well as two sleepers from different generations, it will be exciting to see how things play out.

With his run of stateside top 10s, Hatton appears to be the favorite, but PGA Tour fans will surely remember Cabrera-Bello’s impressive run to the semifinals at last year’s WGC-Match Play. Both have undeniable chops in the format, but Wang, a 21-year-old South Korean with several European Tour victories, could be the real X-factor among this pool. He’s the youngest player in the field and won at the Qatar Masters just a few weeks ago.

While Howell will also have a chance to make an impact, he’ll likely be drowned out by this impressive group of European Tour stars. For now, I’m taking Hatton, but good performances from the other two wouldn’t surprise me.

Beth’s Pick: Cabrera-Bello — This group is going to generate some internal competition that will make for exciting golf. With 4 players whose games are trending upward, each match will be critical. In the end, though, Cabrera-Bello call on his World Cup and Ryder Cup experience and emerge the survivor. The Spaniard certainly knows what it takes to navigate the Austin Country Club track. I look for him to put that knowledge to good use.
