Houston Open: Top 10 PGA Tour Fantasy Power Rankings
By Sam Belden
Hoffman missed four cuts in five events to kick off the 2016-17 campaign, but he’s been on fire lately, picking up two top five finishes in his last three starts, including a share of second place at the highly competitive Arnold Palmer Invitational. There, he ranked fourth in the field in strokes gained: tee-to-green and led it in putts per green in regulation, so his game doesn’t have any deficiencies at the moment. His track record at the Golf Club of Houston is somewhat uneven, but at least he’s never missed a cut at the event, posting five top 25 finishes over the years.
He might not be on anyone’s shortlist to win the Masters, but we know that Hoffman has enough firepower to pick up a win every now and again. It’s been nearly a year since he took his last title, so with a few lucky breaks, he should have what it takes to at least make a run this week.
