Houston Open: Top 10 PGA Tour Fantasy Power Rankings
By Sam Belden
Rickie Fowler — 10th
Fowler will roll into this week on a streak of four consecutive top 20 finishes, including a win at the Honda Classic last month and a solo 12th at the Arnold Palmer Invitational most recently. His track record at the Shell Houston Open is a bit uneven, but at least he’s never missed a cut at the event, finishing inside the top 10 in two of the past three years. And, of course, the stat sheet does a lot to improve his outlook — he ranks inside the top 15 on the PGA Tour in both strokes gained: approach-the-green and strokes gained: putting, and he’s the circuit’s top player out of the sand. Very few players have a skill set that can rival that one.
This event will serve as important practice ahead of Augusta National, so be sure to keep an eye on Fowler this week. If he can play to his projection, then he’ll cement his place as a Masters favorite.
