Houston Open: Top 5 DraftKings Picks for PGA Tour Fantasy
By Sam Belden
Keegan Bradley — $7,100
The winner of the 2011 PGA Championship, Bradley’s career was sent into a tailspin thanks to the anchoring ban of 2016. However, he’s managed to fight his way back a bit in recent months, and with a strong track record at the Shell Houston Open, he could be a great choice for a fantasy flier this week.
Bradley’s main calling card this week is his course history. Since making his debut at the Golf Club of Houston in 2011, the New Englander has gone five-for-six with a trio of top 10s, including a tie for fourth in 2012 and a tie for fifth in 2015. That experience should help to offset his mediocre recent form — he’s picked up just two top 35s in his last five starts, though it’s worth noting that he was playing significantly better earlier in the year. Like Vegas, putting is the one area of the game where Bradley tends to struggle, but he knows these greens well.
At $7,100 in DraftKings, Bradley could be a great value for bargain-hunting fantasy managers. You’ll need to put a bit of faith in his positive history in Humble, but if he can make a run at the title, the reward will be sweet.
