No. 4 Corey Conners

A lot of guys on the Web.com Tour are PGA TOUR winners. Some, like Daniel Chopra for example, have hundreds of starts in the big leagues. These guys might be the first who come to mind for guys who could dominate on the Web.com Tour. I believe just as strong a case can be made for young, hungry players forced to work their way through the ranks at the start of their careers.

That leads me to 25-year-old Canadian Corey Conners. He hasn’t bee-lined to the PGA TOUR like an Ollie Schniederjans or Wesley Bryan, but few do. Instead, Conners has progressively climbed up the rankings following his amateur career highlighted by a US Amateur runner-up finish and an appearance at the 2015 Masters.

Conners surprisingly has not won a professional event in his budding career. The consistency showed so far to rise from the PGA Tour Latinoamérica, PGA Tour Canada and now onto the Web.com Tour indicates steady improvement on the path to hopefully regain the winning ways he enjoyed as a Kent State collegiate golfer.

Conners is five-for-five in cuts made through April 16 in 2017 with three top-10s, and is fourth in scoring average. He’s been a bridesmaid three times between the Canadian and LA tours. A David Duval-like stretch after the first win is unlikely, but that first win could open the door for more once it happens.
