No. 2 Aaron Wise

Aaron Wise introduced himself to the golf world with an individual win as a sophomore at the 2016 NCAA Championships en route to Oregon taking the team title.

Wise went on to qualify for the US Open a few weeks later and he was off: The South African notched a top 10 in his first Mackenzie Tour start and won two weeks later. Three more top-10s in short succession placed him fourth on the Mackenzie Order of Merit ranking and paved the way to nearly full status on the Web.com Tour.

First, Wise got a taste of the PGA TOUR with a T10 at the Shriners Hospitals for Children Open highlighting four made cuts in six starts.

On the Web.com Tour he’s 16th on the money list with only three events (all made cuts) compared to the maximum of five most ahead of him have played. His last start was a third-place finish.

Wise is first on the Web in scoring average (68.75) and is a solid all-around player led by his ball-striking (7th in GIR, 81.94%).

PGATour.com listed him in the top 10 of players to watch on the Web.com Tour in 2017 and at age 20 he’s one of the youngest out there. Winning on the Web.com and PGA TOUR can take time, but all signs point to Wise figuring it out sooner rather than later.
