5: Adam Hadwin

14 events – 1201 points, 1 win, 4 top 10’s (avg. points/event – 85.786)

Last start: T72, Valero Texas Open (3 FedEx Cup points)

Adam Hadwin, in his third year of full-time PGA Tour membership, is having a career season, and it’s only halfway over. The 29-year-old Canadian has built his form up slowly, peaking first with a runner-up showing at the CareerBuilder Challenge in January. Then, seven weeks later, he finally broke through, taming the Snake Pit of Innisbrook and holding off Patrick Cantlay by a single stroke for his first Tour victory.

Hadwin backed up that performance the following week with a sixth-place showing at Bay Hill, but his results since haven’t been quite as clean. In his last start two weeks ago at the Valero Texas Open, Hadwin made the cut, then went 82-74 on the weekend. Not exactly the way you want to head into your two-week layoff.

Hadwin will return to action at the PLAYERS, then head into the Dean and Deluca Invitational at Colonial, before wrapping up his announced schedule at the Memorial Tournament. He’ll almost certainly be adding Bridgestone and the PGA Championship to that schedule. With all the star power around him, he won’t be able to simply rely on volume to stay in this position for much longer.
