Kevin Tway — No. 282

The son of 1986 PGA Champion Bob Tway, Kevin has yet to match his father’s success on the PGA Tour, but if recent results are any indication, he could get there someday. Tway is playing some of the best golf of his career at the moment, so look for him to continue his improbable run at the Wells Fargo Championship this week.

Tway’s inconsistency has robbed him of a flexible schedule ever since he burst onto the scene, but with four cuts made in his last five starts, it seems he’s finally figuring out how to hold his own on the PGA Tour. That stretch includes a tie for third at the Valero Texas Open in his most recent start; there, he shot par or better in every round to finish just three strokes behind winner Kevin Chappell. His ball striking has really come along in recent weeks, and with his always impressive power, he should have a chance to do some real damage at Eagle Point.

At 28 years old, Tway may be taking a long route towards PGA Tour success, but the potential has always been there, ever since he was a top prospect at Oklahoma State. Look for him to take his recent momentum and run with it.
