Sergio Garcia currently tops the field in Race to Dubai points. Where’s Rory McIlroy? Jon Rahm? Tommy Fleetwood?

The 2017 Race to Dubai is nearly one-third of the way through the European Tour season so let’s take a look at the top 10 players in the standings. The Volvo China Open marked the 14th Race To Dubai point event this season and players used the high point values to make some serious jumps in the standings.

There are 30 European Tour events remaining this season, so there is still plenty of opportunity for players to fight for a top-10 spot.

The Race To Dubai was created in 2009 as a European Tour version of the PGA’s FedexCup. Similar to the FedexCup, select European Tour events are assigned Race to Dubai point values. Players accumulate these points over the course of the season and at the end of the season compete in the DP World Tour Championship in Dubai to crown a winner.

While the Race is certainly heating up, the biggest move in standings made this week was from a player outside the top 10. Alexander Levy, Volvo China Open champ, jumped up to the 11th spot in the rankings. To begin the week, Levy was ranked 44th. He used his big win to jump 33 spots in the standings, so close to the top 10 he can taste it.

As the season progresses, players will continue to make big jumps around the standings.

All the information and stats used will be from the European Tour’s Race to Dubai webpage.
